三门异马(Allohippus sanmeniensis)
Allohippus sanmeniensis is a large early true horse, widespread in Early and Middle Pleistocene of N and NW China, also recorded in Siberia and possibly in Tajikistan. It develops a huge skull with a long muzzle, a long facial region, a narrow frontal and a relatively short braincase. Its dental structure is complex, and the first upper premolar always exists.Its limb bones are comparatively long and slender. The specimens unearthed in the Early Pleistocene sites in Nihewan, Hebei, N China show a shoulder height of 1.6~1.7 m. Some individuals may maximize in a shoulder height of 1.84 m. The size of this species reduced in later times. The shoulder height of the Middle Pleistocene population is about 1.55 m.

Why striped like a Grevy zebra?
a certain amount of spriping seems inherited by all modern horses, but it is very likely that the zebra-type stripes developped rather recent in Africa and is not a primitive feature.
